Dear Customers of Brentwood Chiropractic & Sports Rehab Centre,

As always the safety of our clients, practitioners, families, employees and the community that may be at particular risk from the transmission of the novel COVID-19 virus is our primary concern. In regards to the COVID-19 situation, we are monitoring closely the recommendations of the Public Health Agency of Canada and recommendations given by the Provincial Health Officer to our Chiropractic Regulatory Body and Massage Therapist Regulatory Body.

Please notechiropractic appointments are available. Dr. Chris Csabai is available to see patients. During the COVID-19 pandemic, our clinic will be following the collaborated guidance set by the Provincial Health Officer, Work Safe BC, BC Centre for Disease Control and the BC College of Chiropractors. The guidance given reflects the best evidence available at this time and it will change as required to reflect updates on our understanding of the virus and its transmission. It will aid to continue to promote safe care to patients and, continues to prevent the spread of the virus.

Please read the following carefully as this is the standards for in-person chiropractic care during the COVID-19 Pandemic:
You must schedule an appointment for an in-person treatment. Unscheduled, drop-in treatment is not permitted.
When you schedule in-person treatment, you must be interviewed by the chiropractor, Dr. Chris Csabai, to confirm whether you require care and to assess your risk for COVID-19 infection.
The chiropractor must interview you over the phone or using internet communications. You cannot be interviewed in person.

To schedule your interview/appointment, even if you are unsure whether your concern would be accepted as a case, the most convenient way is to book an appointment through this website using the Book Online button.  Here, you will be able to provide your details in the "Extra Info / Comments" section. This will alert the chiropractor and he will communicate appropriately from there. Alternatively, you may call the clinic at 604-299-7199 and leave a message. However, due to circumstances of reduced clinic hours and limited receptionist hours, it may take up to 2 days to return your call. We apologize for the inconvenience.

We kindly request that if you are feeling ill in any way, you refrain from entering our clinic until you have been cleared by a medical professional. Please visit BC Centre for Disease Control for more up to date measures against COVID-19.

Please note, massage therapy appointments continue to be postponed. Our RMTs have not indicated at this time when one would be available. Due to personal circumstances, they cannot return and apologize for the inconvenience to their clients. However, an anticipated return could be by the end of summer. We at the clinic appreciate everyone's understanding, support and patience through these difficult times.  Any changes to this timeline will be updated here on this website.

The clinic continues to follow the recommended precautionary measures include having reduced clinic hours, spaced client arrivals for appointments and temporarily the front desk receptionist will not be present. In addition to our standard cleaning practices in our clinic and therapy rooms to prepare for each client that visits, we have added other measures such as using dedicated cleaners to sanitize all common and frequently used surfaces nearly every hour during operating hours.

Please continue to practice social distancing and wash your hands with soap and water to help slow and decrease the transmission to vulnerable populations.

We will continue to keep you updated to any other changes that may arise as the weeks pass.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

Getting ready for the holidays!

During the holidays, it is common to get busy and out of routine. We all have to be careful as it's not just those extra few pounds that we have to worry about but also the vulnerability of our tissues and old physical complaints/injuries. Very commonly, a large number of the visits people make to my office are for back and neck pain during this time. They often say, "lately I have been so busy and have had no time" to stop and stretch and apply a cold pack even though they were aware of the pain in the area 'brewing.' I advise we have to make time to react earlier than later to these signs. It can save you time and money and reduce the number of visits to my office or sometimes even resolve it quickly.

Tips to avoid foot &/or leg problems in the summer.

It seems that every summer patients will return to my office with foot and or lower leg pains. Many of these issues begin because the better weather makes one choose "summer footwear." Most of these types of footwear have less support for the feet. By choosing better supportive footwear during extended periods of activity, this can lessen the chances for painful problems from developing.

Tips to help your back when starting yard work.

Looks like the weather is beginning to improve. This means we all are thinking about starting yard work. I think the key tip most forget to think about is that this task causes you to stay bent forward at the waist for way too long. For some individuals, this begins their misalignment and can cause back stiffness and even spasms.

Holiday Tips for Avoiding Pain & Inflammation

The Holiday season is always busy. But with a physical complaint like developing back and neck pain you must make time for it. Although we are in a cold season, applying a cold pack wrapped in a thin towel to the area for 15 minutes and repeated every two hours could greatly help you. This also tends to reduce the number of visits that a patient needs to see me for since pain signalling and inflammation cause the body to compensate poorly.
